Hi, I'm looking for alarm clock which can play mp3 of my choice. The best would be to have this option in native clock application...

Yes, there are two ways:

1.Settings:

  • Goto Settings app -> sounds and feedback -> clock

2.Ambiences:

  • Go to settings app -> Ambiences -> choose your active or preferred ambience -> scroll down -> choose "add action" -> alarm.

Hint:

  • The mp3s must be longer than 7 seconds to be played.

  • Install the app clock settings from Slava on openrepos. After this you can go to settings app - scroll down - goto "apps" - alarm clock. And you can choose the level of volume and the snooze interval for the alarm.

Thanks to @rfa, @nthn, @Sthocs for further hints.

The mp3 needs to be >7 seconds long - or it won't play

Thanks a lot, it is very nice. However it would be good to be able to select mp3 from a catalogue structure, not only from alphabetically ordered list of all mp3s.

@HansA I see no way to change alarm volume level - Clock app is greyed out in the app settings.

@addydon@HansA: you'll have to install this package to adjust the alarm volume: https://openrepos.net/content/slava/clock-settings

No need to use Ambiences: Go to Settings > Sounds and feedback > Clock. And indeed you can't choose the alarm volume without the third party app mentioned above (which is a must have).
