notes app with IMAP backend

It could be good if the notes app can use the IMAP accounts Notes folder to save the notes. (Like the ios/macos notes app)
Is the Notes app opensource? Where can I get the source?

Jolla's feature list for Sailfish 3 includes Notes integration to the cloud. Though no idea when this is coming, hopefully it will be mentioned on the roadmap blog expected soon
