How do I Remove the Weather from Lock Screen? [duplicate]
Updated to Sailfish 3+ and noticed there is a weather widget in the lockscreen. How do I remove it / disable it?

"Lockscreen Analog Clock" from Patchmanager's (v2 or v3) web-catalog allows for switching off the weather widget on the lockscreen (among many other customisations to it) on any SailfishOS device.
If you are on an Xperia, install patchmanager 2.0 and the patch Xperia Clock via storeman.
Xperia Clock offers the look of Sony's lockscreen clock with the option of weather display.

do you still need weather application, but dont want widget?
coderus ( 2019-03-05 13:11:24 +0200 )editThe native widget cannot be removed. If you want a weather app without a widget then you need to use MeeCast.
raketti ( 2019-03-05 13:18:40 +0200 )editI don't have the native weather app installed, but I still get a notification widget on the lock screen suggesting that I install the weather app.
andrewl ( 2019-03-05 13:23:10 +0200 )editof course it can be removed, take no notice of the naysayers, of which there are plenty here on TJC and while they are busy saying "you can't do that" others are simply getting on with it.
Admittedly, there is no GUI in Settings or Sailfish Weather for removing/hiding the widget, but with some very simple editing of one specific file, the widget can be removed/hidden, assuming you still want to keep Sailfish Weather app.
IF you are happy to use terminal to create the magic, leave a comment and i'll give steps to do so, or wait for coderus, who likely has a far more elegant approach.
Spam Hunter ( 2019-03-05 13:38:20 +0200 )edit@Edz - everything can be done if you're brave enough. ;) I wanted to point out the lack of features and poor options in the GUI, especially regarding the new weather widget. I also don't like the fact that when an issue is raised the autoreply is "But wait! There's this awesome thing called terminal!"
