Background story: I have a lot of apps I rarely use. Therefore I dont know always which app does what. Or vice versa: when I am looking for an app-function I dont know the matching app instantly.

So my request is this: please give a possibility to short-check apps regarding their function. May be a possibility for renaming? Or an info-overlay?? Actually I have no good idea how to do so. But I think some others may have...

even if there were a hover, you would need to check tgem.one by one.

same.you can do:.go.to.store.and my.apps, there you have a list if all your.aps and description is one click away

totally offtopic @pawel it feels good not to be alone becoming desparate on the space button/key

@pawel: of course it is possible to search that way. But to check in store one has to have an internet connection first. Also you have to open the app, search for your app / needed function and then go back to your installed apps (nd maybe search for this app in all your folders too). THIS is a pretty bad workflow.

I could imagine a switch to another app-view (per folder) where all apps are in a detailed list - like one can do in all desktop file manager from konqueror or nautilus to win-explorer. Overlay was just the first idea I had in mind. But like I mentioned, others may have better ideas...

ps./edit: I changed the title to not focus on overlays

It would help if the Jolla store had a 1-line description in the index. In 90% of cases you can't guess from the name or the icon.

Workaround: Use Quick Launcher
Type some substring the app name contains, it will be shown in the list and open with a tap.
