SailfishOS supports XMPP (even though not for Groups and unencrypted). Why it is not possible to edit and show IM addresses in the contacts app? This fields should be added.

Well all your XMPP-Contacts show up in the contacts app once the account is added (and active). You can link them to existing contacts then. Yes, that's not 100% what you want, but except for the process of adding the account information the result is the same.

No, I open the app Messages and search for a contact with XMPP address, but I only can send SMS.

BTW: I cannot even send MMS (attachements)

And these contacts are already on your roaster, you see their online status and connect to them from other clients? (Like ... on the desktop?) And even though there is an active XMPP connection, the contacts are not listed when you type on the globe symbol?

And these contacts are already on your roaster: Yes! you see their online status: not in the messages app, but on other systems and connect to them from other clients: Yes, from Conversations on Android, ChatSecure on iOS, Gajim on Linux,... And even though there is an active XMPP connection: Yes! the contacts are not listed when you type on the globe symbol? The globe symbol is inactive

I tried a lot, checked several settings. I can only use XMPP to someone who write to me first.

But this is not the request. All IM adresses should be shown/will be editied in the contacts app. Especially because the system contains a integrated XMPP client.

Yes I know it's not the request. I was only trying to be helpful.

Anyway, it's a dupe of
