Compiling this with any modern GCC fails miserably. I guess GCC 3 or 4 is needed to even get this to compile, if you can find compatible source files of mhash and mcrypt. This software is abandoned, it seems. Do you know an alternative?

Old obsolete answer: You could try one of those binary packages for ARM and see if all dependencies are met on your system. Good luck! Spoiler: No luck with SFOS 3.0.3 as newer libraries are needed.

Apart from the usual suspects, it only depends on

  • libgcc_s
  • libjpeg
  • libmcrypt
  • libmhash

So just give it a try.

Thx. I could not meet all dependencies, unfortunately. I guess it should be re-packaged with everything built-in. This is beyond my skills.

I see that all of those binaries need much newer base libraries (most notably libstdc++, but some of them also libc) along with a newer libjpeg. So no luck with those binaries unless Jolla keeps upgrading base libraries at the same pace as in the last OS updates. I wish they would!
