I've searched and while there are questions/answers that are close, there's nothing exactly on point. So here goes.

It looks as if the Xperia X I got to run SFOS on a year ago isn't going to be brought totally up to date, and I need my daily driver to support things like wifi calling. Finding an iPhone SE, Apple-refurbished, for $96 US, I got it.

Now I need to export my contacts from SFOS to the sim card, which I can then pop into the iPhone and be on my way. (I'll keep the Xperia X and update SFOS on it as updates are released, in hope that oneday I can return to it.) On the BlackBerry where my sim card began its life, there was a simple "Export contacts to sim card" menu item, but I can't find this or anything like it in Sailfish. I'm hoping that this is due to something I overlooked.

So -- is there a way to export my contacts from SFOS to my sim card? And if there's not a GUI method, is there a way to do it from the terminal, perhaps in developer mode?

Thanks in advance for any information.

There are no options for that in Sailfish.

Alas. Well, then, I guess it comes down to dissecting the backup tarball. Hope the way they're stored is something the iPhone can eat and digest. That's one of the reasons for the switch: I need a phone that supports expected things and, well, just works. Here's hoping SFOS does this stuff oneday soon.

Hello,

not to the SIM-Card but....

With Jolla 1 [3.1.0.11] you can save your Contacts on your PC as following:

  • Open Contacts
  • Slide down to open hidden Top Menue
  • Click "choose Contacts" or similar
  • Mark all Contacts you wish to transfer with a single Touch
  • Choose this "3-Point"-Symbol or "Share"? on the bottom
  • Next choose Bluetooth and connect with your PC
  • All chosen Contacts will be transfered in a single File called "23-contacts.vcf" to your PC
  • Your Call History and Favicon/Pic will be keept

Tested with Ubuntu 18.04

Rather then clicking on each contactin a long list, it might be easier, as yon think of yourself, to open a back-up tarball and pick ouf the file all.vcf from the People folder and put that into your other device.
