[feature request] night view for XA2 needed
Hello sailors,
yes, me again! as soon as the holidays are well ended, we discover even more things, and even more with new versions ;-).
then this summer i came to my family back on land. And i was surprised that my sister has an xperia XA2 and not updated to the v9 of android. thus android v8.1.
More surprising was she made photos of us inside a dark cinema room, and the device brought bright photos with fine details! mine was only dark (black with some pale lights, better said points)
The same on a promenade at night on a street with some street-lights. The lights were not bright enough that my XA2+ made only dark photos. but by her it was bright.
The same by a visit of a cave.
I was quite frustrated that my XA2+ with sfos was not able to do that.
I saw that the sensor is able to catch all the environment info.
Thus it seems that is some other algorithms possible to use for it.
Does jolla use all possibilities to improve the photo experiences?
This "night view" is the exclusivity of sony?
May jolla benefit the experience of dedicated algorithm?
Or should jolla-devs pick onto other free algorithm for it?
I'll be really interested to to have it on sfos!! Does other sailors too?
Have a nice sails.
cheers Is it possible
however, I rather not name lowlight camera capablities as night view, as this term might be associated with your device's screen appearance, at night. Better camera would be much appreciated, of course, but I guess Sony is quite good in that department. (Quite often I carry a Sony Nex6 with me which is much better in the photo department).
danfin ( 2019-09-05 19:03:55 +0200 )editthat is an other point. i saw the other device with same sensor, and a bluffing rendering of this night-view from sony! same sensor, other algo...
cemoi71 ( 2019-09-06 00:00:37 +0200 )editCamera support is one of the weakest points in SFOS. That's a pity because a high quality camera is very important for quite some people.
On my Xperia X it is almost impossible to get sharp pictures. In low light conditions, where Android still produces good pictures on the same device, on SFOS there is not much more than black. When using the flash, colors are completely out of sync.
Olsen ( 2019-09-06 01:58:54 +0200 )editon the other hand camera stream are not that really trivial to master perfectly. sony master this very well. is one of the firm who is on top for this, but are not really ready to share some know-how...
cemoi71 ( 2019-09-07 20:27:06 +0200 )editJolla is a small team of wel motivated people, who are new on the os devel scene...
need some time to get up on level... until now i found the progession over the time has a nice progression.
I hope that soon they will be able to handle on it...
