Auto-scrolling ambience images, e.g. panoramic view

Would it be possible to let the ambience background image (landscape format) slowly move horizontally? Really slooooooow, so that it is hardly noticeable and does not divert the user.
Imagine e.g. a landscape panorama, moving slowly from left to right and vice versa.
When swiping horizontally within apps, the image could also be moving in a parallax scrolling effect (similar as it does vertically on the home screen).
If in addition the ambience was possible to dynamically adapt font colors to the currently displayed background image region, it would be possible to create really funky art ambiences with a new look and feel whenever the phone is used.
