Android layer spoofing identifiers option.
Android apps are snoopy.
In the lxc android layer we should have settings to specify and override the usual identifiers the apps use, so we can spoof them for those apps. Like IMEI, IMSI, phone id, androidid, etc.
i disagree

This must be an option for all those like me, who do not want to be part of this data-hungry statististical monster, which the android eco-system has become. An option, I do say. For everyone else it could be turned off by default, but for those who chose Sailfish because of privacy concerns it's a MUST have!
Trial ( 2019-12-13 19:57:02 +0200 )editI too would like these options for my device.
WT.Sane ( 2019-12-14 01:24:27 +0200 )editThat is absolutely the wrong way. @asked, if you need that, you should buy an Android phone. Sailfish should not become an Android clone with all the bad consequences.
4carlos ( 2019-12-14 07:31:23 +0200 )editmaking this HUGE security flaw in android layer is nonsence! Yes, this became security issue, making a ways to impersonate the user of apps and services.
