[bug,3.2.1] Running out of RAM with one Android app running only
Hi sailors,
I have a problem with my Xperia 10 running Sailfish OS 3.2.1: After starting the device, there are about 720 MB of available RAM left according to the system monitoring app AIDA. As soon as I start an Android app (which starts the Android background services) the amount of available RAM quickly drops to 40MB only. This phone has about 2672 MB of total RAM according to AIDA and it's running out of RAM running one Android app only?? That's not how it should be, right?
In general on a modern system, free ram is basically wasted, so system tries to use it to cache various things, such as file system access. Then when an application needs it, the cache is dropped and the RAM used by the app. This can of course skew the traditional "free" RAM display.
So instead of AIDA i recommend running "free -h" in the terminal, that should give you detailed split of how your RAM is actually used.

Sailor_John_Doe ( 2019-12-20 16:31:16 +0200 )editThis is normal. My xa2 plus has 6GB of RAM and 800MB of remaining RAM. After Android support is enabled, the remaining RAM is 100MB.
