Is there a way for links sent to me to open the appropriate Android instead of opening it in the native browser?

for instance, if i get a text of a link shared from reddit, can I make it open the reddit app that i have installed (I have the Android reddit app installed) instead of opening it in the browser all of the time?

I realize that this may be a trivial pursuit, but let me explain. I have used Quickddit. I like to support local/Sailfish apps first and don't immediately go for the Android apps. But in this case, I have found that the Android Reddit app is my favorite out of all of the experiences (browser, Quickddit, and the Android version).
