Hi

I'm running Sailfish OS 3.2, fresh install on a brand new xperia 10 dual sim

I have a working configuration in k9 mail that's not working in native email app (running circle to check access, followed by bad translated french error that seem to mean that the connexion couldn't be establish and the account can't be created)

as in k9 mail : server : imap.free.fr security : SSL/TLS (SSL in native email app) Port : 993 username : __user__@free.fr auth : normal password (unavalaible parameter in native email app)

I also connect with success through openssl, thx to https://tewarid.github.io/2011/05/10/access-imap-server-from-the-command-line-using-openssl.html (fiy, replace "tag" by "a" or other random string but not "tag")

does the native email app have logs with details somewhere ?

Thank you in advance for your help, Regards, Oso

I think this may be a duplicate of this problem.

Indeed, I tried the last workaround : reboot, launch only email app, retry account creation : work like a charm !

Problem solved by rebooting and create new email account as first action, but if someone have a clue how to have debug log, it could help solve that bug mentioned by Maus

I hope we can collect all relevant circumstances there, such that the bug finally becomes reproducible by Jolla staff. Would you please accept the answer and close your question?

My problem is solved but my initial question ("does the native email app have logs with details somewhere ?") is still unanswered and could help others with same or different problem with the native email application

@OsoPardo There's a lot to be found over here, that's where I started and in turn found even more. The Mail app actually does not communicate with account back-ends itself, it uses e.g. msyncd. Good luck!
