[Tip] Double Tap to lock
Just found that there is a way to lock the Sailfish OS devices using double tap.
From Sailfish OS 3, the top menu can be accessed from top of the screen any time, be it from home screen or events view or lock screen or while using any app. The top menu also has a dedicated area at the top with lock icon that can be tapped to lock the device. So, to lock the device without using the hardware button, you can swipe from top and tap on the lock button.
However, there is an alternative way to lock, when you are in home screen or events view or lock screen. Just double tap on topmost edge of the screen to lock the device.
Nice find! Technically it is just a blind navigation in the preview of the top menu (just like the app drawer also has a preview of the first row). Nevertheless a nice routine.

The nice thing about this patch is that it does not conflict with the new SFOS3 pull down menu: if you do a short swipe down the device gets locked immediately and if you do a long swipe you get the pull down menu.
You might like this patch as well, even if it does not use double tap. I think in most cases swiping is easier than double tapping.
Patch: restore swipe to lock
