Hi everybody, I am brand new at this and have just received a Sony X10. I don't have a lot of requirements of the phone and just want to install a couple of things, one of which is the Librem suite of apps (Librem Chat etc) that are included in F-Droid. I have installed F-Droid after the required android compatibility app on the phone but when I search for things in F-Droid it appears to be empty in that it returns no search hits, for anything Even if I go into the "categories" it appears that the app hasn't populated itself or something.

Can anybody enlighten me as what I may be doing wrong? As I said, I am a noob here and just trying to learn my way around this.

Just like on Linux distribution you need to refresh the package list first. So go to Updates (Bell icon) and swipe down for it to start refreshing the package list. After that is complete the search should work again.

That is not a SailfishOS specific thing but also needs to be done on normal Android.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I worked this out last night and you are of course correct. In the F-Droid settings I had to refresh the "F-Droid archive" which is really the apps. And, as you say, just like a Linux distribution it populated it. All good now and my apps installed without a drama.
