How to install snapchat? [closed]

I just bought a Jolla-phone and it seems like you can't install snapchat. Is it completly imbossible or is there a workaround?

Please use search before posting questions like yours. There are a dozen threads about/regarding Snapchat and after a brief read, I think you are probably wasting your time. Impossible?, most likely.

Well, I didn't find anything confirming it, so I thought to ask. But yes, it seems like it will not work, I got the older version of the app working but it's not supported anymore. Kinda shame, because many of my friends use snapchat to communicate

To cut a long story short:

You won't be able to install the latest Snapchat version on the Jolla Phone due to the outdated Android App Support.

The Android layer supported by the Jolla Phone, i.e. the Alien Dalvik, corresponds to the Android version 4.1.2 (API 16). Most newer Android apps require a later Android version and do not support such old systems. Furthermore most Android apps do require the Google Play Services, which are not supported by Jolla (but could be sideloaded).

Devices supported by the Sailfish X program are currently supporting Android 8.1.0, you will be able to install Snapchat here but won't be able to login/register due to the missing Google Play Services (and maybe some other possible inconveniences, e.g. an app may prevent to function if it detects root rights).

Eg, Hangouts does not work in my Xperia XA2 with SFOS 3.2.1.20 at all. Thus I suppose, too, that Snapchat does not work either. Android support lacks a lot.

Thanks for clearing that up. I've noticed that I have to use older version of applications and that brings out problems, but that's what is fun with jolla. I have always something to do with jolla.
