Fresh install - Jolla store not installing aptoide

Hi,

I need couple advice. I just installed a fresh installation on my brand new XA2 Plus - this was running android 8.0. I used SW 16 since its known that SW 17 has 5GHz wifi issues.

[1] I configured the phone, and trying to set up my e-mail Microsoft Exchange - but I don't see it on Jolla Store? than I tried to install Aptoide and Here We GO, also no luck can't install ??? error installation ?! not sure if its because of permission ?

[2] I was previously using a Xperia 10 plus I had a backup file on my SD card apparently I can't bring the backup to this XA2 Plus ? the SD Card isn't setup properly (format and mounted) ? So know I am stuck with XA2 Plus not been able to bring my backup from 10 Plus.

I am requesting for help on how to solve the Microsoft Exchange and Aptoide on Jolla Store. and if there is a way to bring the backup file from 10 Plus to XA2 Plus. I tried to copy the backup file to a computer - format the card and bring it back to the card but different file system :(

any help is appreciated.

So can I transfer the license from my previous phone ? and if Yes how to do it?

@ShinAkuma In this case it cannot be transferred because it was a license for a different device. You could transfer it to another Xperia 10 or 10 Plus, but the XA2 series requires a different license.

So I used a XA2+, it got damaged!! :(
Than I bought a new phone and a new license for 10Plus. I don't like it as much as the XA2+.

now I am going back to a new device XA2+. The license was not transferred. So I buy another license for XA2+. now all seems back to work.

I think the backups are not interchangeable though.

A new phone requires a new license. Android support and Exchange support are not available without an active license.

And no, licenses cannot be transferred. They are tied to the phone. (Well, Jolla can do it under special circumstances like theft, but i guess that does not apply here)

One Phone = One License.

You are telling me that when a phone brakes you will have to buy a new license for the "replacement" phone same exact model!

When I buy the license again, do I have to re-install the software again ? or is there a step to activate it without re-install ?

Honestly any impact from what model you get on possible transfers is news to me. Transfers are done at Jolla's discression anyway. No need to reinstall, just sign in to your Jolla account and the license gets applied. More here: https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003837053-What-is-Sailfish-X-licence

Yeah, I restarted the device couple times after re-buying the license! All is good =)

I am so happy we now have F-droid.. makes much easier to get Aurora and everything else!

For Aptoide, replace it with Aurora Store. Install first F Droid (for only free software apk) and later install Aurora store. Now you can install Play Store apk like HERE Maps.
