Pretty much what it says. I don't think everyone has the photoshopping skills to open a template and make their own ambience picture, and surely not everyone wants to use the same old backgrounds? The idea is;

Open app, an ambience template comes out, which divides all the section respectively (pulley menu, lock screen, multitask, etc) Choose one big picture to do some simple cropping OR pick multiple photos and try to fit them into separate boxes by zooming/cropping.

Thoughts?

Using the almost automatic ambience maker in the photo gallery is simple. If I want to do something more elaborate I turn to Gimp on a laptop running Mageia Linux. But having extra marker lines when cropping would be a good idea.

It is easy in the gallery, the main idea here is exactly for elaborate stuff, having an app would make it much easier for an average joe or such who wants to make a wallpaper on the go. Plus one on the marker lines.

I agree on that for the "choose one big picture" one, it would be enough if the already built-in Edit→Crop→Ambience feature just had some side-markings, to show appr. where "Lock screen" and "Home screen" ends respectively, as I have as of yet not stumbled upon an Ambience visible more than faintly halfway down the first Launcher screen.
