At the moment it is hard to find the right information on how to become a contributor on Together. We do have several wiki's explaining things, but they are hard to find.

I suggest the following:

  • Create contributor wiki with info and links to all relevant other wikis/questions on how to get going
  • Add a link to this page somewhere into the template so that is visible to all users.

EDIT: Updated title with new suggestion

Nice idea @avdwoude. I'm not sure how editable the front page is, but while thinking about it, let's use "Featured Tags -> Guidelines" set up by @eric on the front page. Oh, and every question is a contribution (we all are, already), so you must mean How to become a "better" contributor?

@simo Good point. Perhaps we could call it "How to get involved" or such. The original thought was that there are people that just post a question and little else, and some actively participate. But I fully agree with you.... there is no distinction, nor should one be made. :-D

Not sure where such link should go though, assuming it is somehow easily doable.

Hmm perhaps it could be next to the "help" link, that seems to be a natural place for it.
