I wished the TOH would be 1 mm higher so I could put in my contactless credit card.

The credit card fits in well concerning lenght/width but in height there's a tiny little bit missing :)

Having a TOH giving 1 mm more in height I would have a perfect "pocket" for the credit card so I could pay an McDonald's etc. by just putting my Jolla on the contactless creditcard reader ...

EDIT: anybody having experience in warmforming polycarbonate backcovers ? suitable temperature range ?

EDIT: newest version of flypig's design (see comment below) - please contact him if you're interested to test one: http://www.flypig.co.uk/toh/images/contactless.jpg

EDIT: Similar approach for storing spare SIM cards: https://together.jolla.com/question/53724/idea-the-other-half-storing-spare-sim-cards/

And pull of your other half every time you want to go to an ATM? ToH's NFC may also interfere with it, too.

NFC is well designed to coexist with other devices ...

... and I use a bank card at the ATM, not the CC

Kondou: I have a tiny sticker as a contactless card, it is not designed for ATM use, but to, well, stick it on eg. to the back of a phone or to other handy object. Currently it is on an N9, NFC works fine for both the phone and the card :)

@Manankanchu: Have you already added your wish in the list of Poll: The Other Half Option 8 Contestant ?

After some private discussion with @Manankanchu, I'm hoping there may be scope to offer a 3D printed TOH along these lines. There's a render of an initial simple version here: http://www.flypig.co.uk/images/general/TOH-CC01.png

The depth of the case has been increased by 0.76mm. The red guide box, which would just be part of the case (the red is just for highlighting) has inside dimensions 86.0 × 54.58. This based on the dimensions from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contactless_smart_card#Overview

I'd be interested in any thoughts on this design.

would be great if you could apply credit card into your nfc or toh itself somehow which would work with wireless paymethods so you wouldnt need to insert it at all inside the phone.

Just apply heat, pressure and mockup cc card to TOH. It seems to be made of PC, so with adjustable heat gun you should be able to modify it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycarbonate

Please let us know how it goes. I could try the same thing for my bus card (Matkakortti) which has only NFC interface.

just to complete this thread: I tried this modification, manufactured some metal plate in creditcard size and worked with a heat gun but it's a very delicate thing, so I failed. Maybe someone with more experience may get better results. Anyway I prefer to have a new TOH for that, as flypig is now working on.
