silent ambience [released]
It would be nice to have possibility to create fully silent ambience
. I forgot very easily to switch sounds back on if there is just that small icon but ambience
is very powerful reminder. Now I have ambience
all notification sounds off but some sounds are still audible, so I have to use also normal sounds off feature in addition (see "Silence down the Jolla handset completely (theater mode)" for details). Vibrate should also be configurable by ambience
s.
@bysmyr How you have created your current silent ambience as I have created mine based on custom ambience allowing to control sound of seven different sound sources.
if you have silent ambience based on one of the default ambiences the sound source selection is not configurable.
In any case for each ambience sound source it would be good to have dedicated sound control, which is already asked in some of the tjc posts.
What sounds in your case are still on, if you have custom ambience in use with volume setting set to low?

Bysmyyr ( 2014-02-12 11:04:13 +0200 )editAlso the silent ambience should have at least an option (if not mandatory) for the clock alarm tone to override the silent mode. I have a need for a silent ambience, including silent notification and feedback sounds, but to still wake up for the clock alarm. So, basically identical settings as the sounds off feature in the pulley menu, but I would prefer it as an ambience as well, because the pulley menu setting is so easy to forget.
tajunta ( 2014-02-12 13:21:48 +0200 )editMaybe I am just having a "brett vorm kopf" (i.e. being slow on the uptake): Create your own Ambience from an image of your own (not one of the predefined Ambience images). There you have several options for sound settings, allowing you to switch off all sounds but still have the vibration, or to have off everything except for the clock ...
(Its all described here: https://together.jolla.com/question/16673/howto-ambiences/.)
But, as criticised already: Ambience as implemented at the moment is completely confusing.
jgr ( 2014-02-12 17:57:07 +0200 )edit@jgr as I suggested about the same above I did some testing and e.g. clock alarm will not silence even the custom ambience would be active with volume set to minimum.
However even the slider is set to minimum the switching between ambiences indicates that minimum setting seems to be 1 not 0
