Excellent to see so many votes and comments <3 Let's not turn this into a debate whether or not a landscape support for native apps is somehow "optional" feature. It's a highly mandatory one. We simply didn't have time to implement it properly because [add your favorite features-missing-explanation :P] and it's on the top of our list to get released as soon as we can.
We really think that a modern operating system UI should be orientation independent, but as it's a big goal we need to split it down to smaller ones and gradually work our way up the list. We're sorry if it wasn't properly explained earlier.
thanks :)
I believe landscape mode is coming, but I really hope there will be possibility to lock screen orientation or there will be more complaining again.. So do it right at once. :)
huuhaa ( 2013-12-26 04:18:14 +0200 )editI hope too in landscape mode like N9
idro ( 2013-12-27 23:59:32 +0200 )editBrowser landscape would be most important for me.
StaticNoiseLog ( 2013-12-31 00:34:03 +0200 )editNote: Opera Mobile (for Android) on Jolla switches well between portrait and landscape. Probably other Android browser would do as well. So there is a solution until native Sailfish browser is updated.
jgr ( 2013-12-31 16:21:02 +0200 )editI have to hardy disagree thats not a solution because many users prefer to not install dalvik, and I am one of them.
Landscape should be fixed in native OS for apps like browser etc..
