Hi all,
My Jolla is sending hundreds of megabytes of data out every day, and I'm not sure what is causing it. It maxed out my data plan, so I am on wifi only right now. Does anyone know of a good method to figure out what is transmitting all the data?

If you're okay with using developer mode, you might get a clue about ongoing background processes by watching journalctl -f output. Or you could install "crest", which is available from the Jolla store and outputs a table of running processes, quite similar to UNIX' top command.
However, both of them do not actually monitor network traffic, so they can only be helpful if data is sent in short intervals throughout the day. If they don't give any clues, there are probably cool command line tools which can actually track bandwidth usage, the UNIX guys will probably have some good ideas for this...

tried to get an idea by using an app like network monitor. with something like that you can see when something happens.

You might want to include what apps you have installed/running
intekulan ( 2014-03-22 17:30:33 +0200 )editCheck your apps indeed. Try tcpdump or tetheral. Or in case you can be bothered hang it on your pc with USB and connect to the net using ip forwarding and watch what happens with your favourite network sniffer. This is not normal!
