App start animation.
While i don't have something solid to propose instead of the current behavior i believe that something better is needed in that area. Now when you start an app from the home screen (4apps at the bottom) it shows the time/charge/signal etc creates an expanding tile and then you get to the app. If you start an app from the launcher screen it moves up shows shows the time/charge/signal etc and starts the app.
The whole thing/process is IMO somehow fussy and doesn't feel immediate or well polished. So is jolla planning to do something in this area.
Or anyone have a proposal for making this better.
This is an easy one. What do you expect if you're starting an app? It should be shown asap, without any animation or fireworks. It should open it's main window and at most show the "circle" to inform you that you've to wait another second. ;) Mostly animations are shown to distract the user, that the requested process is not completed...

Moth ( 2014-03-26 22:15:49 +0200 )editWhat's wrong about it? It shows you, what the app is doing: Building up the cover (you even see, that it is going to be the very first cover on home screen) and then opening the app screen.

However when you tap on an icon it means that you want to use the app. If you close it right after you use it covers don't matter. If you "minimize" it then it makes sense to show where the app is going to be (with a cool animation). The whole thing is part of the aesthetics of the Sailfish OS -along with the icons and maybe other stuff- that need polishing/beautification.
