Apple iOS 7 gets Multipeer Connectivity, a technology that enables very interesting applications, like Firechat. Something along the lines of this should be avable for Jolla.

I agree, a mesh network kind of functonality using open protocols would be awesome.

Just as info: another app for Android is "Serval Mesh".
