Idea: Intelligent (belt) case

There have been a lot of different ideas for TOHs. But how about an "intelligent" case for Jolla ? I'm still using a (nowadays a bit unfashionable?) belt case for my phone, and it just occurred to me, that what if the phone could recognize, when I put it in the case and e.g. change the ambience automatically to "outdoor" (high ringtone volyme, bluetooth on, wifi off ...) and back to normal when taken out ??
Don't know if that is currently technically possible to communicate with the phone via NFC other than from mounted TOH ?
