The post entry in database says it was deleted by you Kari... I have now restored it.

It looks like something goes wrong really randomly. There was a report about mysteriously disappearing answer some time ago. Back then I wasn't able to reproduce the issue and didn't find any hints about what might go wrong, I'll continue investigation as it seems to be a real problem.

If anyone else has noticed something like this, please comment here what happened, what were you doing at the moment and maybe also which browser you were using.

UPDATE

Still could not find a reasonable root cause for this. But at least now, to prevent the accidental deletions and such, there is a confirmation dialog for all destructive actions.

@Keto

Thanks for the restoring the post and additional info about the problem.

If you find the root cause, I am interested to know about...

I still can't find any other reason than accidental tap on the 'delete' link. Based on the logs there was really request for edit and delete, so it didn't just delete the question on it's own :) I tried hard to reproduce any kind of false click on the delete link, without success, so I'm ruling this as a accidental finger slip.

For now I have raised the karma limits so that users can't delete other users posts. And I will be adding a confirmation dialog to the delete link, so that nobody accidentally deletes their own posts.

This is bit strange as I was actually doing the edit of the question already and while attempting to save with minor edit tick mark I got the notification that questions is deleted. I can't understand how I was able to access to deleted question in this case?

As the logs are indication edit and delete it should mean that I have done my update with save i.e. It means that my latest update should be the latest version - right?

However the version what you have restored is the one that I actually started to edit not the one that I was trying to save.

I was doing the edit with Jolla Native browser, if that helps you to study this issue bit more. As you know we have had many kind of reload issues with native SF browser and perhaps this could explained what happend?

As you plan to do updates to the portal I noticed after the incident that with Jolla/SF browser the portrait orientation will place the close and delete links in two rows on top of each other (not overlapping). Here we have very good chance that user will click delete while attempting to close the question.

With Google Chrome such rendering of the links doesn't happen even the browser window size is reduced smaller than Jolla screen width.

Yep, from the logs I saw that you were using Sailfish browser and that's what I used to try reproduce the issue (although a testing version, as I didn't have a device with the current public release handy).

The request for question edit page and request to delete the post were almost simultaneous, so my guess is that somehow it managed to launch the edit page load and delete request (which is done dynamically via javascript) at the same time. So at the backend, it constructed the question edit page and after that processed the delete request. Then when you tried to save the question, it had been deleted... I'm not completely sure if that is even possible, but that's the best theory I have at the moment. I will do more testing after I have downgraded one of my devices :)

And yes, I noticed also that the rightmost links are laid out a bit badly. I'll see what I can do about that.

Thanks for the additional effort to study this bit deeper, I hope you will find the actual root cause for this.

By the way do we already have delete confirmation question for the posts that are not own posts?

This post is not mine and I don't recall seeing any confirmation for the deletion of the post. Just, if this will help you to improve your theory of what has happend...
