After Update7, my Pebble can't connect with my jolla using Skipping Stones app even if it's paired and my device become very hot. Seems Skipping Stones app development is stopped and now we need someone who have the skills to make another app or to works into Skipping Stones. Anyone could take a look into it?

You may try my Pebble Support implementation for SailfishOS. See: https://openrepos.net/content/smoku/pebble

It has main advantage over Skipping Stones - it runs as a background daemon, not requiring having an UI app open all the time.

Can Jolla be connected to both a Peeble and a bluetooth headset/carkit simultaneously?

Yes. I use my Pebble and BT headphones with Jolla every day.

@smoku, thanks for the feedback regarding BT headsets. And great work with Pebbled!! I can confirm Jolla can be connected simultaneously to both Pebble and my car using Pebbled.

I just tested the latest SkippingStones with my Pebble (FW 2.x) and the latest SailfishOS version and it works. Sending Testnotifications (SMS, E-Mail) via the "Developer Tools" in SkippingStones worked as well. Audio Player control is broken at the moment but it seems I only need to update the patch as some internals of the AudioPlayer.qml implementation have changed but otherwise it seems to be fine.

PS: I am the author of SkippingStones.

PPS: Once in a while it seems that connection issues show up but so far these could be solved, e.g., by disabling Bluetooth on the watch and the phone and re-enabling it or by repairing the devices. Happy to talk with you, I wrote this post because I've heard about a development stopping of Skipping Stones, after update 7 I couldn't connect to my Pebble, my device became very hot and I've tried anything to make it works with no results, this situation worried me, that's why I wrote this. I hope you will work on Skipping Stones again because it was very good and useful. Thanks.

It's nice to see that SkippingStones is useful for you.

Unfortunately, my time is very limited these days so I can hardly afford to put any work in this and thus updates are likely to occur very sporadically.

With respect to your problem: did you try the SkippingStones version from OpenRepos or from the SkippingStones repository? The most up-to-date version is the one that can be found in the SkippingStones github repository. I didn't upload that version to OpenRepos yet as I wanted to get more feedback about its usability.

In any case, please note that SkippingStones comes without any warranty.

I know it haven't any warranty, I'm not complaining about the app or about you, I'm grateful you explained clearly the situation, I'm sorry I have no alternatives if you decide to stop the development. In any case I try to find the latest version. Thanks a lot :)

Does Pebble work without installing an app on the smartphone?

I mean, notifications of call / sms / email, alarm clock, maybe calendar alarms.. ? After all, it's bluetooth based (and Bluetooth supports several of these capabilities with standard profiles)

@c.la Yes. Features like clock (yeah!) and alarms work without a phone around. Just like in any other electronic watch.

But the killer feature is being a dedicated screen for phone's call/sms/im/email notifications screen and these obviously do not work without the phone around.
