Spare camera module
Any chance of getting a spare camera module? I have scratched the lens and my pictures are fuzzy.

Good question - How to get spare parts for the phone if needed. e.g. battery, screen or similar. Would be great by Jolla to add such stuff to the official webshop
NFec ( 2014-06-19 01:46:06 +0200 )editI guess in my case breaking the glass/plastic cover of the lens and replacing it would be enough. Would just have to get the exact same size/form piece for replacement and glue. But maybe I'll still try some stronger chemical and try to just wipe it again, in case it's just grease.
jjhuopa ( 2014-06-19 07:32:02 +0200 )editNo, it's not grease. I'll try to investigate where to find a glass part for it, the original part seems to be plastic.

Any ideas on polishing the scratches out, or a replacement camera module would be greatly received! I am going to glue a small ring to the other half to make the lens recessed, which will stop it scratching further when the phone is put flat on the table etc.
Grimtech ( 2014-06-24 15:33:56 +0200 )editWhat i've done on my Jolla is stick a mildly protruding sticker cut-out around the lens openings so that even when the phone is lying rear down on a flat surface the lens are always held some mm above the surface to reduce any incidence of unwanted contact & scratches. In hindsight i'll say they should have made the rear phone cover with a slight depression or budge around the lens to give it some protection. Doesn't look so nice but has it's practical value.
