How do you create notifications?

Is it possible to create an app that pushes a reminder or action every day.

E.g a notification at 9AM reminding you to visit a Url and appear with all other notifications?

Couldn't find much information on this so thought I'd ask.

Why don't you just add a daily recurring event to the calendar?

It isn't a personal app only for me you see.

I want everyone who has it to be encouraged to access a certain part of the app everyday. Are push notifications supported on Sailfish?
