only with the latest update.

anybody have any idea why this happens? everytime I start scrolling the call log it will stutter / jerk briefly at inconsistent intervals - but often enough that it becomes irritating.

it seems to get worse when the phone's uptime increases.

I noticed that as well. It is not smooth as for example messages list. For me it happens mostly right after opening it, then after scrolling up-down a bit it seems to become smoother.

Both dialer and contacts applications are very rudimentary and buggy. At least they fixed the freeze-and-freak-out-after-call-ends bug with the most recent update. Would love if they'd both spend some time bug fixing core apps like these, and add some extremely basic features and UI improvements ....

For example, you can only scroll through contacts of one (starting) letter .. I've never seen or heard of a phone where you can't seemlessly scroll through contacts. Even worse, you then have to scroll from the bottom all the way back up to the top to select a new letter. It's unreal. I mean there's even the globe icon (presumably to denote all contacts) there ... but 7 or 8 months or whatever it is after launch, they still haven't bothered to enable it. It's frankly incredible.

i agree that the applications could do with more features / capabilities. by the way, the globe icon doesn't denote all contacts. it denotes the contacts who are online (for example, if you have facebook account configured on your jolla, and you synchronize contacts with Facebook, this globe icon will show those contacts who are directly reachable using IM chat over Facebook).
