Remove/Insert SIM card while phone is ON :-) [answered]

Not sure if this is possible from the hardware perspective, but it was certainly doable in the N9 and nothing bad ever happened.
I was told that the expectation is for the phone to be off to remove or insert the SIM card. It would be nice if you could do this while the phone is ON.

I was surprised by this as well. You can remove the SIM when phone is on, but when removed a notification tells you to reboot when a SIM is inserted back in order for it to register. Nowadays I think with most phones user is able to switch SIM cards without rebooting the device.

I was also told by @JollaHQ that the SIM would be hotswappable.

According to JollaHQ the SIM card will be hotswappable.
