I have an account at fruux.com and after the update 1.0.7 (which was the first one supporting CalDAV-Sync with Fruux) I pinged the Fruux-Team to create an Icon for Sailfish-OS in their Clients overview. Unfortunately the synchronisation with Fruux is not working properly even now with Sailfish 1.0.8. There are mainly two things that I experience:

  • Calender entries get lost on my Jolla but are still visible in the web interface of fruux.com (there is a similar Bug-Report to this, hence this may be a duplicate)
  • The end-time of entries is set to the start time which means that they have a zero length. These events are shown with zero length in the web-interface of fruux as well.

I hope these issues will be fixed in the next release. Currently Fruux is unusable with Sailfish OS.

The end-time issue is being worked on for the next release.

In regards to the calendar entries that no longer appear on the Jolla device, does this only occur with particular entries, or all of them?

@Christian W.: just tried sync with fruux again. Despite the problems you describe here, are event reminders synced for you? I tried to sync between my Android tablet and my Jolla, but either way the reminders get lost.

It is exactly the same if you creat your own serveur with baikal. On thunderbird everything is correctly wirte, but on the phone the end-time is set on the staring time. If you create a event every week, it just keep the first and not the other days. If you creat a event on Many days it just keep the first day.

@Jörg Yes it seems that the reminders are not showing up on Fruux. But on by device they are still available.

Ok, I investigated some more time. So far I seems that all the daily events created with Sailfish OS are lost and all the non-daily events are truncated to zero time.

In the case of the daily events Fruux seems to be still able to show them in their Web-Calendar. The truncated events are shown with zero-time in Fruux as well.

I also imported the calendar to Owncloud and it seems that Owncloud is also missing many events (created with Sailfish). I have extracted some events from my Fruux-Export and commented them:

Only in Fruux but not in Sailfish:

(Not shown in Owncloud after import)
(all are whole-day events?!)

Thanks for the detailed report. The event dtend issues will be fixed in the next update.

Unfortunately, with regards to owncloud, we haven't done much testing there yet (which is why we haven't added explicit owncloud account support), but we do intend to offer a decent owncloud integration sometime in the future (not just caldav, but also carddav and file share). No ETA though - resource limited as always.

After upgrading to Uitukka the problem remains the same. Fruux is still unusable with Sailfish OS.

Still not syncing with fruux after updating to 1.1.2.16...

An interesting thing perhaps. Fruux had to change their web interfact, as syncing my wife's caendar from Android gave errors: one hour off. Probably recurring items, started during summertime, showing one hour off during wintertime. Nonetheless my wife's calendar showed correctly on my Jolla, synced through Fruux while their website showed it wrongly. That has been fixed by Fruus, and summertime has come. Now the Fruux website shows the time correctly, and my Jolla shows her items one hour late. My own All Day items have all disappeared, and there's a double "Calendar" to be seen when I manage my calendars. Weird. Can't delete the second one either. Using Yliaavanlampi 1.1.2.16.

CalDAV in general has never been proclaimed stable for Sailfish OS, it may work ok for some, it may not work at all for others. In the last system upgrade that introduced changes to Sf's CalDAV implementation it was explicitly called "experimental", and that is still what we have today. My point being, I suggest to the OP that you try to redirect attention and votes from this post to the CalDAV thread.
