In some circumstances you now that you do not have internet. Some programs can use internet but not need it. It is very irritating that connect dialog appears very often. Can there be setting that disables that dialog when wlan and gsm connection are disabled.

Even when GSM is available I don't want to use mobile data. So it would be nice to have a setting for this somewhere. In my case it is Sygic which asks about every 10 seconds for a connection. But there isn't any and in fact it even does not need it.

I downloaded HERE for Android beta and tried to use that while offline for navigation. Connection dialog opens every fifth second and this is REALLY annoying. Offline navigation is useless with this connection dialog. I think that there should be at least possibility to tell "Do not ask again for connection" and it should be remembered at least as long as application is shut down. In earlier versions timeout for asking again for connection was a lot longer while it's now in 1.0.8.21. I really hope there comes a good solution for this problem. Offline navigation is a big thing for me and now it's impossible because of this.

Like @hullabaluh, I don't want to have GSM connection enabled all the time. (At the moment, I have a very low data plan.)

And like @verro88, I want to use offline navigation. Therefore I installed OSMAnd. This works great offline in Alien Dalvik. But sometimes the message the connection dialog pops up. Unfortunately, this blocks the whole screen, so I can't see the navigation data any more. This is very annoying and dangerous, if this happens, while driving. :(

So, please:

  • add some kind of configuration to disable this dialog
  • or at least make this dialog a way smaler, so it won't block the whole screen
