Resume music playback once ready (optionally)

One of the things I use my Jolla for a lot is for listening to music, usually via internet radio, using the stock media player. However, if I leave my house while connected to wifi, music playback is paused, and when I then get connected to 3G data transfer the playback isn't resumed. I always use headphones while listening to music.
It would be useful (at least for me) if playback was resumed once internet connection has been re-established. However, in the event that data transfer is disabled one probably doesn't want the playback resumed if headphones have been disconnected between losing and re-gaining connection.
Similar reasoning could also be applied to other cases when music is paused without the user's explicit request, when the cause is later reverted. For instance, detaching headphones and later reattaching them could resume playback, or answering a phone call and then ending it (if headphones are still attached upon ending it).
It is not obvious what the "right" thing to do in all cases is, but it's pretty annoying to have to work around this every time I leave the house while listening to music.
