Jolla says no installer found when I try to install a .deb package. What could be the possible solution for this?

Well you could convert it to rpm by using some tool like alien. However are you sure you want to do that? Is the software you want to install even suitable for the Jolla?

If it's a .deb package, it's most probably not meant to be installed on Jolla. Jolla doesn't use this package format and there's a high chance that whatever is in there won't run properly because it expects a different platform.

If you know what you're doing, you could just oben the package on the desktop, look what it contains and copy the files over to the respective destinationson the Jolla phone.

Well It's a cuteTube application downloaded from the openrepos.net Is it safe to install this app on Jolla? I have been using this app on my Nokia 808 Pureview from a very long time and I like it a lot.

just for the fun, I compiled dpkg LOL, not that it will help I am sure in installing deb files. But, you can extract on work with them, on-device.

Actually that's pretty useful.

You can download source DEBs, and port/recompile to RPM's on the device.

Thanks :)
