Cover actions for Gallery app are missing

I just recognized that swyping through the picture gallery is possible when a picture is maximized. However, when putting the gallery app into the background, it still displays the picture in fullscreen on the cover but there is no more swyping through the gallery possible by cover-actions until the app is maximized again. I'd consider this a bug, or, at least, a missing mandatory feature.

No this is certainly not a bug but rather a missing feature or Jolla simply didn't think of (or didn't want) to implement cover actions there.

But in my opinion it would be a good idea. A request for video playback through cover actions is here: https://together.jolla.com/question/2090/gallery-app-option-to-continue-video-playback-in-active-cover/

I suggest you change your question (and label) into a "feature-request".

Launching the camera could be a good cover action. It would provide quick access to the camera without eating up one slot from the bottom quick access bar.

Yes, cover actions for the camera app are definitely a must: 1 to scroll through. But the difficulty would be you need to go back and forth, and there's space only for 2 cover actions. so if there's going left and right...that's about it, which is fine, since the camera icon is right there at the botom right.

There is a cover-action for Gallery (launch Camera) but it seems to be only visible when you have no pictures saved to Gallery. For some reason that cover-action is removed once you have at least one picture saved to Gallery. System version 1.0.8.21. I think that the logic behind it is to prompt you to take one picture but not to use the Gallery's cover for that after it.
