Wanted: media player automatic resume after temporary network loss

I use PLS files for listening to live radio streams using media player. It occassionally hangs, presumably because of loss of slow network, but continues again. But sometimes it just gives up and stops play. This happens quite often when I pass a spot where there is no 3G connection for about a minute or two. If I click the play button again it restarts fine. It would be nice if it didn't give up, but automatically tried to resume play ("clicked play by itself") after a lost connection.
