Root required for turning off notifications of android-based applications

As kind sir StaticNoiseLog answered to this question https://together.jolla.com/question/55903/android-background-apps-auto-start/ applications like mentioned "Autostarts" can turn unneeded notifications off. But only with root access. To allow those applications operate in root one must install an Aliendlavik Superuser (found here: https://openrepos.net/content/coderus/aliendalvik-superuser), turn automatic response for "Allow" and that's it. However that didn't work for me. Said Autostarts still do not work. Can you please help me, what did i do wrong?
