While I don't know the specific CPU series being used in the tablet, hopefully some of Intel's models will support AES-NI for faster and more power efficient encryption/decryption.

Having this feature available on the CPU would make either partial encryption or full disk encryption (for example of the SD card) much more performant and power efficient.

http://ark.intel.com/products/81194/Intel-Atom-Processor-Z3560-2M-Cache-up-to-1_83-GHz if it uses that processor it has AES-NI.

According to Intel, the Atom 3700 Series will be used.

Intel states in its 36xx/37xx Datasheet that the CPU supports AES-NI.

So unless some changes are made still, it should support it.

Not all support AES-NI only a few and only one of the 1.8GHz ARKs does, if they use that they could also use a 2.4GHz ARK... http://ark.intel.com/compare/80273,80274,80268,80269,80275,80270

Well, I also saw the comparison table. But according to the detailed datasheet, all should support it. Look at the datasheet:

  • p. 31, SKU information, Note 1: for Z3735F it refers to section 1.2.2

  • p. 26, Type 3 SoC, nothing written about AES-NI, but also not in the section for Type4 SoC. refer to Chapter 3, "processor core" for more details.

  • p. 80, Chapter Processor Core, 3.1: features, 8th bullet point: "supports AES-NI"

So I hope that datasheet is more exact than the tables on the webpage... :-)
