Sorry for a "retro" request, but DAB is really not happening and without 3G/4G, it would be really something to be able to receive FM radio when out and about.

An FM radio would be great. Essential when travelling or waiting or walking.

I liked this on the n9… On a tablet I believe it will be a first and the idea is very appealing indeed.

Me too...sometimes, things that work should be "resurrected" from premature ends...u think?

Yes, I agree. And the thing with an FM reciever is that you don't need an access to the web to make it work, meaning it's something you can use in almost every situation (almost because of course, in a desert or sth there's no radio… well).

Honestly, I don't need a phone or a tablet to listen to FM radio. To brew coffee neither. However, why not a DAB+ receiver plus digital recording on-the-fly?

You don't live in the country then, where if you leave your home you don't have access to internet connectivity at all ;-)

What would make FM radio even better (even for city folks), would be an integrated antenna in phone cover (enclosure). This way one would not need the have headphones always plugged in to listen radio. I read a news about this integrated antenna technic years ago, but have not noticed it implemented anywhere.

Jolla Roadmapping Meeting - Friday 16.01.2015

Thank you for your contribution to the Jolla Tablet project!

We receive a lot of ideas and suggestions, which we are grateful for, but all of them can't be implemented. We've reviewed your idea and unfortunately it is not something we can implement, at least right now.

However, we will keep all suggestions, and might revisit this decision in the future if we see an opportunity to implement this feature-request in an upcoming product/SW release.

Best regards,
The Jolla Tablet Team

I agree with the principle of adding FM radio, but most of the services in the UK are now on DAB or duplicated on the digital TV frequencies. Although DAB audio quality is crap I find myself listening to this most of the time, so this would be most useful. However I understand DAB is still power hungry although a lot of the GPS chips contain DAB as well now due to car usage. So I would like FM+DAB if the power usage is not an issue. I guess DAB is more hassle because there are more software issues as well.

Whats the point in suggesting hardware changes ? As far as I read from the announcement only software changes and maybe minor hardware changes are accepted by the Jolla team.
