Since the Jolla Tablet(JT) is going to have a much larger screen, I was wondering whether it could have a "Telescope" mode, where you do a certain gesture, in my opinion, the gesture that you use on an iPad to exit an application, and it will bring up an overview of what's happening on your device, like it'll show current apps, notifications(not like little icons, but big ones that tell you whats going on), a list of your most used applications, your recent contacts, and everything you need right away.

Well, theres really nothing like it. The closest thing is the activities overview in GNOME 3 http://askubuntu.com/questions/281176/enable-transparency-in-gnome-activities-overview

Ok so it's just about viewing all active windows on the screen, as Cinamon does, too? https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uTlzB5P5Ds4/UD6NFYCwHSI/AAAAAAAABPg/AcY-YmPlPwo/s640/cinnamon13.png

That's only one part of the idea though. But we also add on a list of most used apps, like the dock in GNOME, a place to view notifications, and like a search area.

Wouldn't it mean to ditch the notification view, the multitasking view and the status bar altogether ? Because what you ask would basically be a "one-screen fit all" that would render all those useless, no ? Why not add some of your proposed elements to their respective screens ?
