Do we need identi.ca?
Consider integrating an identi.ca account/client. It is for many pretty much important just as twitter.

Hate it or love it, pump.io (formerly identi.ca) is not a well-known social network. Lots of other social networks, with much more active users, deserve a Sailfish OS integration before pump.io.
There should be an Android app for that waiting this integration. Writing this answser I found an app called AndStatus. HootSuite must handle pump.io too.
+1 though I think your post should be rather a comment. Thanks for links.
NikosAlexandris ( 2013-12-30 07:01:51 +0300 )+1 yes but together is not only about what we want "Jolla as company" can do.
I think support of pump.io can be done by the community so definitivly valid to discuss it here at Jolla together :) What Jolla can do is to allow us to use the FeedAPI in sailfishOS and harbour.

I'd personally prefer Diaspora*, but more isn't less.
shmerl ( 2013-12-25 06:35:49 +0300 )@shmerl The more options, the more attractive and useful the device/OS. Why don't you create a separate question/feature-request?
NikosAlexandris ( 2013-12-25 16:03:31 +0300 )GNU Social (former StatusNet) and Friendica share the Twitter API in many places. Those "should be" easy to integrate as well.
bAvatar ( 2013-12-26 08:08:02 +0300 )Diaspora would be great!
ramoth ( 2013-12-27 21:39:27 +0300 )Plus all these apps for open and non-commercial social networks probably wouldn't need to go through 'certification' by the brand owner, just Jolla in-house QA (i.e. it should be simpler to test and it should carry less legal burden).
