Hi,

I would like to send all the application traffic through Orbot. Is it possible? Also since Orbot requires a superuser mode what should I do in order to enable it?

Thanks

tor itself doesnt need superuser priviledges. The tor-switch application does (to change the icon)

To enable proxy - other than sailfish-broswer included in tor-switch, there are several ways

  1. Use iptables to forward all DNS queries to tor DNS http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1425101&postcount=17

  2. Redsock proxy http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=92703

Orbot do not need superuser in all cases. You can use Orweb or chatsecure etc. without it. Of course other programs needs it.

My idea was to route data related traffic through orbot/tor. Actually it would be great if Sailfish had this feature built in the OS

You can install this to obtain superuser in the Android compatibility. Of course, this only counts for Android apps, and from reading the comments on the page there seems to be a problem with Orbot. Maybe it works for you!

You can also install tor to make all the traffic from the browser (only Jolla's browser) go through tor. Works perfectly.
