One feature I would love to see on Jolla is the "always-on" clock that floats around the lockscreen. Is this to be added at a future date?

It's one of the few things that are holding me back from purchasing a Jolla phone right now - just love my N9.

I think this is not technically possible with current display technology. However TOH with low power display might be. I may be wrong though.

I hope Jolla will find a solution to do that. On N9 it was so useful. !!

It should be possible at least when connected to charger.

I recommend that you request LPM screen to be included into next Jolla HW: https://together.jolla.com/question/2038/hardware-feature-request-is-it-possible-include-standby-lpm-screen-in-next-hardware-revision/

One suggestion for a way to have quicker access to time & date, would be to have the time & date shown when the screen is touched.

Now you have to double tap to get in to the lock screen. What i propose is that simply touching and holding the screen would show the date and time. Then after a set time limit, even if you continue to hold, the screen would go dark. This would give you quicker access to time & date when for example pulling the phone out from your pocket, but at the same time not be too energy draining because of the time limit and the screen being dark when idle.

The Jolla do not have the same screen technology as the N9, and the "Low power mode" clock and notification indicators cannot be implemented on the Jolla.

EDIT: TOH with OLED http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=92239

I think technically it is possible. For example you can see Nokia Lumia 920,1020 etc. They have IPS LCD screen and they have kind of low power screen called Glance. Jolla also have IPS LCD screen and something like Glance should be possible

@LPS TOH: Well, I don't thing placing you device display-down on hard surface is a good idea. Just a few grains of sand and you can get nasty scratches on the display.

I woudn't go for the Low Power Screen OH either. Turning the phone requires the same effort as tapping the screen or unlocking it. The point of this feature is to see time and/or other information without having to touch the phone.

This answer seems to have been made into two answers. The original 'not possible' plus a second totally irrelevant 'add a second screen' answer. It'd be better if this was a separate answer or not included at all. IMHO.
