There are lot of ways to update software on Jolla phone and to add external software repositories and stores. This device is hacker-friendly. Let's share ways to do it.

There is also a new community repository called "Chum" where we can publish any opensource apps (yes, this includes python apps, daemons, dbus services - you get the chance to really frack up your device ... if only it had a recovery boot option!)

ssu ar chum-1.0.1.10 http://repo.merproject.org/obs/sailfishos:/chum:/1.0.1.10/1.0.1.10_armv7hl/

  1. Jolla system SW updates (after they are published) appear as a notification on Jolla Events view (swipe upwards starting under the lower screen border). Tap on such a notification and Jolla Store will appear, giving guidance how to download and install the update. It is also possible to seek for updates in Settings > About product using the pulldown menu there.

  2. Jolla application updates appear in the Events view. Tapping on them takes you to Jolla Store and let's you to take an update. It is also possible to visit Jolla Store, take "My Apps" from the pulldown menu. If there are any pending updates you will see one or more apps in category "Updates available". The rest of your apps go in "Up to date".

  3. Android applications (including updates) can be downloaded from various services (Yandex and other).
