Lock applications [released]
I want to be able to lock applications so it can be opened only with device lock code or some other code. This is useful if you don't want certain applications to be opened by children, friends...
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

Pretty nice idea. Currently you can do this by editing desktop file, and doing special invoker which first opens lock code query before opening the real application.
If I have some free time some day, I might do proof of concept version for it.
@rainisto Can you please present how we can lock certain apps? I need it so much desperately. People around me are bit nosy and many times they take my phone to send messages or browse. At such times, I feel irked. I don't want to lock my entire phone because it might be little rude, it would be great if I could lock only select personal apps or could have a guest mode kind of thing. Thanks!

So basically, parental control. That is a very-very good idea!
Macilaci457 ( 2013-12-30 19:43:56 +0200 )editI agree, this is a very good idea indeed. Would it make sense to do this on a whitelist basis instead (optionally)? (I.e., all apps are locked by default, but someone can unlock the phone without a PIN (or with a different one) but then has access to the whitelisted apps only.)
