I ask Wimp, if there a Version for Jolla Phone in development.

I find Wimp a very good music stream service, hope other people think so to. Please tell me if you find that Wimp developed a version for Jolla.

Another WiMP user here. To stay up to date with wimp, we need to get in touch with customer support and ask for the latest .apk. If all sailing wimp users do so on a regular basis, they are constantly reminded that we are more than just a few. (Note: I am not talking about spamming here, that would not help.) I also considered developing an unofficial client, but there are no plans to offer a public API :( Actually, this could be a reason for me to switch to another service - even though I'd prefer to stick with Wimp.

Actually, WiMP is available from APTOiDE. So you don't need to contact them, for other reasons than reminding them. ;)

@Rune Rasmussen oh, is that new? I have asked them more than once to make the APK available outside Play, but they never told me about Aptoide. Thanks for the heads-up :)

The Android version of WiMP works great, so does also Spotify.

Maybe better ask them to add it to Jolla Store too, as a beginning.

Edit: I wrote to WiMP's Norwegian support, with a copy to Aspiro (http://www.aspiro.com/wimp/), asking them to add their "WiMP for Android" to the Jolla Store (https://harbour.jolla.com/).

I also did the same for Tracker (http://www.tracker.fi/en), asking them to add "Tracker for Android" (http://www.tracker.fi/download/?android=1).

I encourage others to do the same, for those and other Apps you would like to see in Jolla Store. ;)

Problem with the Jolla Store is that you have to upload app updates manually. I can understand if companies regard this too much effort for a not (yet) very large community. If harbour would be able to grab updated releases from a server itself, or at least offer an API for releases, acceptance might be better.

Maybe they will, if people keep asking for the apk :) Really a pity that there is no API, I would love a native client, even if it was very light-weight.

maybe with the last event of the tablet campaign in indiegogo, has made a good spring to increase the community. Then in the next months will be more increase. But 1st should the people get their devices, so that they could use this service. Have some patience, an as the other answer tells, you could use the android app as alternative. ;-)

thanks for you answers. Yes the Android App is a alternative. But my problem is when you hear music over bluetooth Wimp switch to the speakers when you disconnected, for me not really practical.

And also, what happens if you use the native media player. Playing t.ex. MP3 stored on the phone? Just to clarify if it's a Android or Sailfish "issue"...

the Sailfish media player automatically stops playing when a bluetooth speaker/headphone is turned off. Quite a nice feature

Ah, OK - I see. Same thing happens for all Android Media Apps, also with AUX connections.

So it's actually a issue with the "Android support" in Sailfish that needs to be addressed at some point, even if it's not a very big issue for most of us. Actually I really hadn't noticed it, or thought about it, before now. :)
