Track a Jolla [duplicate]
This may be a stupid question but is there a way to track my jolla, or a jolla whose owner agrees to the tracking?
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

I haven't tried it by myself but you could have a look at https://openrepos.net/content/aheil/miataru
You could create a simple html5 web page with location request and ask a Jolla owner to open the page with the Sailfish browser. Phone should consult the owner with "Do you want to share your location", after which the page receives current location. Via auto-update and a script to save the location into a database, the tracking is possible.
Or, code a Sailfish OS app for the same purpose - not sure if would it be accepted in the Harbour QA at this point (but should be)

You mean tracking via GPS, via mobile network, or tracking a mailed Jolla packet?
simo ( 2014-12-11 09:59:38 +0200 )editGPS and/or Mobile Network - I have my phones since Dec 2013. A way to see where the Jolla is on a Map would be ideal - I thought there has to be something like that on the market .....
coolhuh ( 2014-12-11 10:05:42 +0200 )editJust out of interest, why would you want to do this? Afraid of losing it in your own house? :p
Vinyl ( 2014-12-11 16:59:29 +0200 )editthis came up when I was helping someone to navigate to an address a car Navigation could not find but I knew where it was. It would have helped too see exactly where the Person was to be able to exactly say which way to go. My own phone I (normally) can find.
