Speaker Location

Can the speakers be placed on the front of the device. Since this is a personal device I should be the one that hears the sound, not those behind the device.

Well, the speakers are at the bottom of the phone, so you can direct the sound towards yourself by holding the phone with your hand cupped around them to form a reflecting surface. Not perfect, but shouldn't leak as much in the wrong direction... And on another note, placing the speaker in front of the unit would IMO disturb the design of the phone.
